Gold for Beemster Goat
Beemster cheese has won gold during the World Championship Cheese Contest, the world’s premier technical cheese competition, which was held in Wisconsin on March 3rd.
Best of Class
Beemster cheese competes in several categories out of a total of 143 classes for the title of “Best cheese in the world”. The Beemster Goat was awarded the title of “Best of Class” in the “Hard Goat’s Milk Cheese” with 99,5 out of 100 points.
Both the Beemster Royaal and Beemster Royaal Grand Cru finished with “Third Award” in de category “Gouda Mature 4-10 months” and the “Open Class of Hard Cheese”. An achievement we are very proud of.
The competition is the oldest and the most prestigious in the world. The highly critical and professional cheese inspectors assess thousands of cheeses every two years, paying particular attention to appearance, taste, structure, rind, and color.
